Legal Highs in Ireland

Last night as I left soundcheck I was approached by the crew of Primtime. They were filming the 'legal highs' head shop Nirvana on South William Street (below, obv.). This shop had a sort of hatch open (at 1am) and were selling legal drugs over the counter. While I belong to the school of all things in moderation, the sale of legally derived (herbal) cocaine and ecstasy on a main street in Dublin dumbfounds me. South William Street is one of the most beautiful streets we have here in Dublin and it is cheapened by the entrepreneurial venturing of drug dealers. The queue for the hatch was choco block with kids.

So of course I felt strongly enough to allow Primetime film me shooting my mouth off about it. The last thing I want is my gob on the telly after a few jars riding my little righteous pony about. Especially as one of my mates had just bought a spliff from said hatch.

I've been trying to put my finger on exactly what it is that really gets my goat about these head shops. I think it could be the seediness of it all, the blunt 'get fucked up' philosophy reflected in the tacky red, green, and yellow tripe on their shop fronts (below, charming).

Something tells me I took the 'abomination on society' route last night. I feel like a hypocrite and whats worse is that I was being a drunk hypocrite on film. Again. Micheal Foucault said that we hide away in life what we can not deal with. So it could be denial that impassions me to send drugai back to the alleyways, back in the box where I can understand them.

Ultimately, I think what it comes down to is that drugs ruin lives. I can't think of anyone I know who has not lost a drugstruck friend/family member for at least some period of time. I don't see how legitimizing the dangers with a white picket fence and postal address is progress.

I do regret talking to Primetime though. Having flashbacks of looking in to the camera. *Cringe*.

Its a sad day for Coronation Street fans as Maggie Jones (Blanche) passed away this morning aged 75.She had been on the show for more than 35 years and a regular character for 10 years.

So recently I have been researching the area of social psychology. This teamed with a recent set back at work have caused me to question myself. Do I really want to be here? Do I care enough about what I'm doing to run the gauntlet again and risk my brittle ego? Anyway.... This lead me to a simple example of how you can understand your self-concept.

So Myers (2005) rehashed a simple exercise he has rolled out over the years. He asks us to finish the statement 'I am...' in five different ways. This apparently is your self-concept. I know this is fairly basic stuff but two things struck me when I answered the question. 1) I have a very holistic view of my life (considering myself both here and there ie. who am now and who I will be) and 2) that although I would consider myself fairly confident and capable I was pretty horrible about myself too!

I began wondering why I was beating myself up for what I perceive to be my weaknesses. Interestingly, all the negative things that stood out to me are not problems. Nor are they things I would consider weakness in others.

Like whats that all about?

I remember being transfixed by movies as a kid like labyrinth, willow, the neverending stories etc.. With these movies I was transported from life as I was getting to know it to a fantasy land where I could fly on the back of a giant dog and was marginally frightened by David bowie. Maybe its me but all the kids movies I have seen in the past few years have changed from being creative to creations. Like little adult movies. All shiny and not conducive to climbing trees and making mud pies in the back garden.

Where the Wild Things Are proudly sits on my bookshelf to this day and will always be one of my favorite reads since my big bro fionn taught me to read. For some reason this trailer evokes in me a nostalgia for those days. Some people seem devastated that this book was made into a movie but I for one can not wait to see it. I'm off to make a bow and arrow.

I feel in today's ever more transparent world that the veil of anonymity is one most commonly reveled in by the weak, nasty, and of course those looking for sexytime. Arguably the more lustful among us may hide to gratify a sexual need or mask our identity to let someone know we think they are way more amazing than we should and would blush to put name to it. The weak to me are those who lack the courage to endorse they're convictions - those who can dish it out but would buckle were they to take it. Then we have the nasty who often seem to leave predefined undertones of bitterness, jealousy and whack of launching personal attacks on people rather than a comment with any real relevance to a post/forum/whatevs.

Then theres when your not arsed signing in, leaving a frivolous comment and don't care or just don't really know how it all works.

The monologue of the internet has transitioned to a discourse and I'm just getting really tired of seeing nasty anonymous comments. On the bright side these runts make the rest of us feel righteous and lovely. In retrospect, keep up the good work McGinty-holes!!

Had a fantastic night and all the acts involved were excellent, really enjoyed Messiah J and of course I'm a FlApes advocate. Today I had the displeasure of witnessing a procession of school children in between teachers walking down Aungier Street. What initially struck me about these children was that they were an extremely diverse group with red heads, Asians, and black children holding hands and playing together – they also all had a fine thumb print of ash on their heads. Admittedly about half the class were typical Irish kids, but the multicultural element was significant and perhaps reflective of the shift in Irish culture. So is the ash on these children’s foreheads ethical? Are they all of the catholic faith? If a non-catholic school forced a stale tradition from their respective religion on Irish children would it be accepted?

I often wonder about religion and whether children should be ushered in to their parents’ beliefs. My own parents went through the motions when I was growing up but ultimately I was trusted to make my own decision when equipped with the experience and information to do so. My mother who is now a humanist never spoke to me with bias about religion and kindly just explained things to me as I got older. The most euthanized thing she ever uttered was “I believe in God, I just don’t always believe in the way the church teaches it”- and that was after a curve ball about faith thrown by a ten year old Tainer.

During my teens I went through a very religious stage and enjoyed the aesthetics of churches and the solace of prayer. As I grew older I began to question these beliefs and what they were based on. I suppose my first real beef with catholicism was a religion class I had to attend 3 days a week in school. My particular class was lucky enough to have two Indian girls. It often baffled me that they would go and sit in the library for these classes (a fate I sealed for myself in 6th year but that is a different kettle of fish) but something I came to understand. Looking back I realise that ‘religion’ did not do what it said on the tin but rather preached a rather disturbing set of values and allowed no room for discussion. In fact, I remember being shown a video about the viscosity of your vaginal fluids. This was to instil in us the practice of contraception and conception without the need for any other kind of protection or interference. Pretty spiritual huh? I must have been 16, and no I didn’t go to school in the 50’s. I attended a school which was winding down its convent and now enjoys having a lay principal (one who is not connected to the church). I remember girls being ‘politely’ asked to leave in my day if they got pregnant and a nun who used to talk us through how she’d rub herself off banisters.

Then came the straw that broke the little donkey’s back – philosophy. I undertook a degree in philosophy and in my first lecture a man came in and told us there was no god and to discuss this amongst ourselves for the hour. In retrospect, being a lecturer now I realise this was probably a diversion tactic so he could go for coffee but nonetheless it got me thinking. The hedonistic years that ensued removed any ideas of belief from my mind and found me in the agnostic end of the pool. Slowly but surely my gay friends began to come out, or not. This was the beginning of the end for religion as I knew it. In fact my current partner once pointed out to me that while it is a sin to be gay it is also a sin to eat shellfish.

I have learned over the years not to criticise people’s beliefs too strongly but once I was awakened to the folly of the church I found it irresistible to discuss faith - this has at times led to great arguments. Often these discussions end in someone barking ‘but that’s what faith is’ and refusing to converse with me any further or at its most extreme ‘you are going to hell’. However, in my mind the greatest argument against the church is the church itself. While the good that has been done by the church and the sense of community fostered by the ‘parish’ has been invaluable to society it has transitioned in my mind from en vogue, to tradition, to outdated- last stop McGintyville (faded and out of sync with reality).

My children will not be baptised but will be educated about religion, not just the most prevalent but all religions. They will not go to hell if they die because there is no hell nor is there such a thing as a sin in my opinion. They will not live in fear of the wrath of god and I endeavour to know them and myself well enough to teach them wrong from right and pray to Dolly that they fall on the right side of the fence.

Never will I allow them have ash fingered to their head by priest.

Wouldn’t it be interesting if in 2000 years there was Harry Potter Wednesday and we all carved lightening bolts into our foreheads to keep Lord Voldemort away…..

Did you know that after water tea is the most consumed drink in the world? If I had my way I'd only ever drink tea. Tea for breakfast, lunch and dinner - then a double tea and red bull when I go out. Interestingly, black, oolong, white and green tea are the most commonly found types and they are all made from the same bushes. Similarily, Barry's, Lyons, and Tesco brand all have that same tea taste. I'm not pushy or weird about brands of tea but I do know a lot of people who squirm at the sight of any non-Barry's brand and decline the generous offer of a cuppa.

The oldest cultivated tea tree dates back 3,200 years and was found in the Yunnan province in an area where Burma and China are today. Legend has it however that Shennong (an ancient and revered emperor of China accredited not just with tea but also inventing medicine) was drinking a bowl of boiling water when some tea leaves fell in. Hey presto tea was invented.

The role of tea is well established in normalizing blood pressure, lipid depressing activity, prevention of coronary heart diseases and diabetes by reducing the blood-glucose activity. In addition to this black tea is also an amazing anti-oxidant.

I think its all teariffic. I'm off to have my third cup this morning...

So I woke up one morning to find Lucy (aka Google) unconscious hugging the toilet cistern. I obviously found this amusing and proceeded to take photos and call it to the other attention. Then I saw the dried blood across her face and neck. Ooopsies.

Silly Lucy was out cold after the smack. According to x-rays hitting the banister with her head saved her skull from smashing off the ground.

Snow way snow way

Mnmna.

Well. I don't really know where to start. How about the beginning...

Hit the slopes in Wengen last week. Drank too much beer, fell over a lot, lost my snowboard (yes the one I raved about previously) to 200mph winds while I stopped for some fig schnapps, and lost my passport on my way to the gate. Ended up stuck in Switzerland till yesterday! But had a lovely stay in Basel and then on in Zurich. Mighty pricey but beautiful. I was lucky that the ever wonderful and patient Michelle didn't get on the plane and stayed with me.

Picture this-

I get to the gate (the last to get there). I realise I haven't got my passport. A ten minute walk from the duty free which was the only place I went on my way from security. The ladies at the desk tell me I have 4 minutes before they close gate. I was so hungover, shocked and thirsty that I sprinted gagging and crying to the duty free where I was met with 'we handed you back your passport after you bought 800 million cheap fags. So I sprinted all the way back and presented all the id I had. This was taken to the pilot who refused to let me on the plane as he did not believe I was Irish. *Plane door closes*

The next day my passport was unearthed at the duty free desk.
Karaoke, breakdance offs with the locals and balcony beers featured heavily in the last week. Who knew my girlfriend could breakdance that well? I
We didn't quite board as much as we could but only two people had to get x-rays. I did however get my nose broken via Lynn with a dance move I taught her. The good ol' 'dance without moving your arms' - it has been known to descend into a helicopter type swing. When caught square on the nose leads to blood and pain and laughter. I still love you Lynn.
I believe it was Joseph who christened me the Lion of Narnia on our travels. I just like the wind in my hair and rock in my ears when I fly off the mountain. Thats my story and I'm sticking to it. It has nothing to do with neglect.
There was also some impressive snow sculptures - Stimpy the cat and Rebecca the pre-op snow glamour model.

We met some colourful characters and made impressive trails of destruction.

I had a fantastic week(ish) in Switzerland. Even if I am never allowed enter the country again.

Is it weird that I want to eat my new snowboard bindings? I mounted them onto my board myself and have a strange feeling I might not quite have got it right.. Look how delicious they are!!

There is 15 of us heading off to Wengen in Switzerland on Saturday afternoon. I can't wait!! Its supposed to be ridiculously expensive over there so we shall be stocking up on booze in the airport and eating a lot of pasta. Apparently Wengen is completely pedestrianized and its difficult to get there any other way but train..

Ok now I want to eat Wengen. Maybe I should have lunch..

When a girl gets to a certain age they begin to notice their friends shacking up with their fellas, wedding bells and the pitter patter of cloven feet. This seems to trigger a quarter life crises among lesbians who for some reason can’t keep their self-identity issues in their pants. The pressure of being unconventional in the eyes of society denies gay people children, marriage, acceptance and often safety (in the conventional understandings of these terms). Sooner or later most lesbians ask themselves the question ‘Is it really worth it?’ In my opinion freedom and love outweigh deceit and misery but for some people it seems like a better option. Imagine how scarlet you’d be coming in to the closet? Oops made a mistake not gay, want baby, definitely not gay though. Can love transcend gender?

I think people should be able to tap whoever they please. However, there is a bitter aftertaste of betrayal that follows a Hasbian - from the mouths of lovers scorned but also from the lesbian community. As a friend pointed out this morning – lesbians who go back to men having been exclusively gay hurt our feelings. It creates a pseudo transparency for those who believe being gay is a phase suffered in the 20’s. They always go back to men in the end. I don’t want to judge Hasbians (well I do but I refrain because its tangential) but can you imagine if the same phenomenon was true of gay men? I know it does happen but far less frequently. Perhaps this is because being a gay man is far more socially acceptable these days? Maybe its because they don’t want babies as badly as the ladies? Or maybe its because they haven’t been raised with the ‘dream’ of getting married? Interestingly, surveys of the gay community include those who have been with someone of the same sex in the past five years. Gayers.

Honestly, I think if we were equal with our heterosexual counterparts it would not be an issue in the slightest.

A friend of mine, Jane McGinty, mentioned yesterday on her twitter that she wished she could run out of credit on her facebook. Having received many comments in my day that I had a strong desire to ignore it occurred to me that I like Jane would pay for an opt out option. If only there was some way to prevent a facefook. The following are what I consider facefooks:

a) Leaving an ex a comment
b) Adding someone you used to snog/stalk/know because their page is private and you want to see if they got fat/hot.
c) Being added by someone you used to snog/stalk/know because your page is private and they want to see if you got fat/hot.
d) People you kinda know but find cringe worthy friend requesting you.
e) When you get tagged from last Friday night out of your mind licking a cardboard cut out of Britney Spears, which brings me to f..
f) Being friends with your family on facebook.
g) When someone you fancy declares themselves ‘In a relationship’ and then comments playfully with their new partner in status updates.
h) Someone starting a chat with you by saying ‘Do you ever work?’

Conversely, there is also faceluck.

a) The opportunity to burn people through the art of non-response.
b) Knowing where everyone you know is at ALL times.
c) Status updates offer a happy medium through which disclaimers on your behaviour/ambition/life can be publicised.
d) Older family members can’t figure out that you’ve removed them as a friend.
e) You can make yourself out to be deadly when in actual fact you are pretty boring and spend all your time on facebook.
f) De-tagging.
g) Selective photo uploading – no one knows I’m really a bear because I take a good photo every now and again.
h) You all know I’m a fan of stalking.

Imagine a world where you couldn’t get back to someone on crackbook because you hadn’t topped-up? It sounds almost Neolithic.. We are such wonder children of amazingness.

Next time I don’t hit you back (unlikely, I rarely commit to work and regularly skulk on FB) I didn’t have any credit.

So a friend of mine was telling me about the exhibition 'bodies' which is on in the Ambassador:

To help you see what a body really looks like on the inside, this Exhibition uses real human bodies that have been preserved so they do not decay. A human specimen is first preserved according to standard mortuary science. The specimen is then dissected to show whatever it is that someone wants to display. Once dissected, the specimen is immersed in acetone, which eliminates all body water. The specimen is then placed in a large bath of silicone, or polymer, and sealed in a vacuum chamber. I’ve been pondering the New Year this morning and why it fills us with optimism, excitement, and the need to change. If I can just get through January the year has so much in store for me! I find it striking that just three weeks ago we were on our third plate of turkey and roasties, pissed at 3pm on a Thursday and exchanging gifts we couldn’t afford, as we reveled in not change but stale tradition.
Why do we feel the need to climax? The last week of the year we seem to gorge ourselves – spending every penny we have left. With ‘next’ year in mind guzzling the last of the champagne and smoking 60 fags before giving up for the first 36 hours of the new year. It’s a special time. Come to think of it my birthday (week) is a magical time, so is Valentines Day, Easter, all the bank holidays, Halloween, other people’s birthdays, and hey fuck it Fridays are pretty damn special to me too.

Can we not appreciate a high without a low? Is it so tough to be us that we artificially create goals just to get us out of bed and ebb us ever closer to the end of the line? Maybe Hallmark is a very necessary evil, or rather saviour from a significantly more mundane reality. I for one like my distractions big, fat and full of flavour. Any reason not to remember that existence is probably futile and everything I’ve ever known will eventually cease to exist. Pass the roast potatoes.
I suppose if you stay in one place long enough you begin to see it for what it is - a shitty year gone by, a clapped out body abused by excess, the same old friends, mild depression induced by grey skies and realisation that your going to be a year older again. Potatoes. Again. NOW.

But all the misery and self-loathing in the world can not compete with the good times. So, the next time I feel that creeping sensation of rational understanding of our fate surge from the pits of my cranium – I’ll repress it and remember its Friday in two days, and we have Christmas 09 to look forward to.

How the internet has made me a bad person.

1. There was a time when I could hold a thought in work for longer than 3 minutes without refreshing 4 email accounts, facebook or blogs.

2. I am alone only without an internet connection, which means I'm never really alone - and that means I have no true perspective on my life.

3. I am addicted to online poker. Well arguably this lost its appeal as I lost my money. My alter-ego is a chain smoking, professional gambler called pearl.

4. I stalk people. Everyone. You name them I've stalked them. I do tend to focus on one or two people at a time. Have I ever mentioned something to you about your childhood that I shouldn't really know? Or say 'remember that time you dressed up as a chicken at cousin Sue's 12th birthday' and you say 'its nice to meet you too'.

5. I can download all the movies you can't get. Also all the tv you can't watch this side of the water. This means I spend series after series on my couch convincing myself I'm working by having a word file open.

6. I have the attention span of a brick. The internet indulges me as I hop from topic to topic, place to place, stalkee to stalkee. It encourages me not to pay attention.

Last night I went to make and do do in Pantibar. It was a blast, the theme was loosely based on the book of kells so I made a book of smells which went down like jane mcginty on a taxi driver when she runs out of money. Its got something to do with us all ending up in a crack den last night.

It all started out so innocently in soundcheck. It rocked and was jammed with weirdos, knob heads and knackers - in the best way possible. FLApes were there and they played a set as did the Dublin streets and bitches with wolves. Highlight for me was shooting caps in peoples asses to 99 problems (but a bitch aint one). Then we went underground to the crack den. Mattresses on the ground, tiny passage ways into rooms, a smoke hole where you weren't allowed smoke but did... And when you needed to pee you had to act really normal walking past the security cameras. Did I mention the crack den was on Clarendon street???!! Anyway lots of drama, lots of booze, and many moments when I wished I'd just gone home!!

Oh and did I mention I scored my first goal of the season last night? Well I did, and I liked it.

I ate my weight in chicken wings last night - Elephant and Castle style. It was great fun with michy, ragin, corina, anto and unsies. So apparently at both the New York and London E&Cs they do not serve chicken wings. WHAT!! Yes, only in Dublin are the chicken wings so shit that we there are only 2 places you can go to eat them (Tribeca being the other option). On top of this international E&C workers are infuriated by the incessant Irish asking for something that is not on the menu.

Anyway.. I think E&C Dublin is great with its window booth seating and Delicious (yes capital d) drinks. Try the Limeade mmmbitter like my soul.

Did I mention that Lucy ate 41 chicken wings? Then had cheesecake.. She'd be such a hero if she wasn't such a dickhead.

So last night was fyunkies birthday make and do do at Panti bar. Me and Lynn made a green Annie Balls. I have to say it was the most fun I've had in a gay bar in donkeys. We were all going to head up to the Dragon after but when we got there I wasn't a regular. NOT A FUCKING REGULAR!! Ridiculous - if Capital bars want to turn away gays then its only a matter of time before gays turn away from them.. Although a little birdie tells me they may be changing hands fairly soon.

Where was I ? Ah yes so instead of having an argument with the bouncers about letting us in we took our business to the casino. Which of course I was more than ok with!! Una McGinty must have won about €400,000 and even I went home with more money than I went out with. Not to mention the free booze and Chinese food - amazing, or as britney would say awesome and amazing.

So I want to be a pro gambler more than ever now.

Friday night went for work drinks in the market bar which was far more fun than I thought it would be! Then went to Ragin's gaf only to discover I was already pissed. Oops. BUT I made it to cake and had a blast - made out with inflatable santa, flattened an old friend from school, bit Lucy in an inappropriate place on her leg (I don't doubt for a second that she deserved it), and had many embarrassing conversations which I don't fully remember. Sounds like christmas to me.

How bout Alexandra huh? I find her SO annoying. I just don't find it believable that she can perform so confidently and then totally break down at the optimum vote increasing moment. There was just no need for it. At least the furby baby didn't win.

Making life easier? I think so. Heuristics are all the rules of thumb we use in our day to day life to shorten the decision making process. Heres some of mine:

I don't like tuna - saves me ordering it, not liking it, and getting something different.

I don't like to take the stairs - the lift is much better.

I like black clothes - to the fury of the gay boys.

Of course these are superficial and probably not the best examples. But it is these rules we define for ourselves that often lead to us making the wrong decision.

I know what your thinking "oh just another gay who thinks that everyone is gay". Well back off bitches coz I think we all know that she puts the lezza in Condileezza. I mean come on people!! The evidence mounts and many stories and blogs 'in the know' pick up on the story as well as many dismissing it as idle gossip. I mean come on, she's black (and we know black people aren't gay), she's republican (and we know republicans think gays are sinners that should never have marriage), she's a highly respected and powerful player in Washington (and we know politicians aren't gay, right?).

I blog about this not to ad another notch to the dyke belt but to highlight how the more respected media ignores the value of such 'gossip'. Take for example the following quote from the Times:

"Rice was not alone in falling victim to what the US media elite invariably decries as corrupted journalistic standards but what the rest of America seems to regard as the real story in Washington: who is sleeping with whom?"

Oh, well I know I give a shit about who's banging who!! Nevermind the fact that a gay woman of such deep repute must mask her sexual preference to be taken seriously in politics.

What does it say to gay kids who hear celebrity after celebrity deny their sexuality when they are clearly gay off their delicious face? Furthermore what does it say when a politician does it? These kids aren't stupid and they have been sent a clear message that to be gay is wrong. These kids counter-parts aren't stupid either and also get a clear message telling them to pick on gays because there is something wrong with them.

Imagine the difference it could make for her to come out (again). Imagine how many children could be saved the humiliation of being stigmatized for their sexuality. Imagine the world could edge that little bit closer to understanding that people don't choose to be gay, we come out of the womb gay. As so much research has proven (research I'm certain Condi has read), that no its not just ok to be gay - its completely normal.

So stop saying things are 'so gay' and moaning when you hear 'gay conspiracy theories' because until gay isn't a dirty word anymore this kind of banter is legitimate and relevant, if not good for you and your poor judgment.

Panti - the nightmare.

So I had a nightmare about Panti the other night. Strange because I adore her and think she is an Irish icon.In fact I've always wanted a Warhol Marylin style print of her for my house. Where was I?

Podge & Rodge got fired and Panti was given her own late night chat show Mon- Fri. Flash forward 20 years and Panti is trying to find a replacement, allowing guest hosts to take over her slot as a trial run. So of course I get a shot. It was a mess. The audience was full to the brim and Panti was watching from the wings. Well I f'd it up royally. I didn't know there was an auto cue and had forgotten my glasses (which I don't actually have). Needless to say I knew nothing about the guests, wasn't funny, and the show got taken off the air...

But of course I had every intention of going back the following evening for my second chance. Little did I know someone else was being given there 15 minutes of fame. I waited until the end and approached the elegant and salubrious looking Panti as she perched on a stool. A mirror adorned with light bulbs blinked shadows across the smoke filled dressing room. Then it happened. She turned, flashed that fabulous smile and a transformed into silken screaming panther. The panther snapped at me and told me it never wanted to see my filthy wretched face again - that I had disgraced her and was never to set foot in her Empire (by this time she has built one) again.

Scary. Panti please don't turn into a panther and maul me.

In other news... Went to Panti Bar 1st birthday on Saturday and got krunk in the new basement club. I have to say it was fab. It could have been the free jelo shots but we had a blast. Well worth checking it out if you have been living under a rock and haven't already gays.

So the Brit machine has pulled out of playing the virgin Mary in upcoming film Sweet Baby Jesus. Boo. The films producer claimed "she ran in to trouble with her family" over the role. I think it would have done wonders for her profile but she's too darn tootin' scared to go for it. The fact that she wanted to do it redeems her a little in my eyes.

If looks could kill, you'd be dead. So who gets the chop in the L Word Season 6. The promo is a hell of a teaser. Laying on the sexiness, merged with a sinister undercurrent, we are told that the killer looks are not about beauty.

Featuring heavily are Tasha and Alice, with Tasha - the Iraq veteran - being the only cast member who doesn't ham it up for the cameras, gazing only with a foreboding look next to her girlfriend Alice.

If you look EXTRA closely, under this intensity lies a hidden message. As Tasha appears on the screen, the backdrop to a police identity parade flashes for not even half a second. Subliminal, much?

After this, if you pause the promo (and are total obsessed nerds like us), you find a body on a floor covered by a bed sheet. Crack open the Cluedo, lezzers!

The body lies face up, and it doesn't seem to match the silhouette of any of the cast members. Could this be Alice's new crush? Might this be a crime of passion? Hmm, under still lebsian waters, storms of murder murk.

I'm not quite sure I understand how people live virtual lives online. Apparently more and more cases of divorce are involving online cheating. I just don't really get it. Don't get me wrong I get hooked on every game going but can not imagine living in a virtual world. Is the emergence of an exclusively online community creating a new minority? Its certainly re-inventing sexuality (among so many if not all things!), but from your gaming chair?

Would you dump someone for second life cheating? I don't think I would but I also don't value that experience. Perhaps I need to get a second life to get second life cheatin'.

At least no one out there is wasting money, time, resources, space etc. by creating a giant pair of jeans with absolutely no purpose other than being a gigantic pair of jeans. Oh wait..

Halloween was astounding, time was fleeting and madness took control. But listen closely (not very much longer) I've got to, keep control.

Friday nights rocky horror @ the sugar club was by far the best we have done in the past two years. The place was jammed and the costumes were amazing -

The extremely hot Dotty Pots rocked out and got possessed on stage to the delight of the twisted audience...

And I ended up legging it with Dr. Michelle for hotdogs and an early night (creepier than Halloween?).

Simone & Sorcha deserve some serious kudos for dressing up as a snickers and mr. T.

Yum cocktails I hear you say.. Although Davih and I tried to know the one that was the one too many it turns out we failed to recognise the one after the one too many.

We even congratulated ourselves on out smarting everyone in SPY by drinking both of our 2 for 1 cocktails in pint glasses. With ice. And straws. Ended up pulling a cinderella and legging it for garlic chips.

Soundcheck ROCKED. Conor the Shark was a highlight for me and his no fuss sexy dj dance almost turned me! Plenty of fab FLape tunage and sickeningly sweet vampire teeth.

Next week sounds just as rockin as last night hopefully i'll be able to shake the tee many martooni hangover...

Even though I think I have a broken bone in my foot all I can think about is snowboarding.

This season I'm recruiting a crowd for the gay ski week in Wengen, Switzerland. Its the first time they've had a 'pride' week in the resort and its set to be a blinder. The resort is lush and nestled high in the stunning Jungfrau mountain range.

Ryanair fly to Basel which is a 3 hour train away but really reasonable. Also, the chalets in Wengen are affordable and central.

Anyone whos game let me know chucks coz everyone is welcome to join us!!

Rocky Horror Picture Show

At ladyfest this year the issues of perspective arose as fionn, una, le rage, rose, and the artist formerly known as brian banged heads over whether really tiny things could in fact be giant miniature things etc. It turns out its all a matter of perspective (whether you yourself are tiny or giant makes a real impact on this one).

On my adventures I've managed to capture some rare snaps of the giant/tiny conundrum.
